HOW TO WRITE A RESUME-MISTAKE #1 NEVER USE THE WRONG PAPER! Whatkind of paper should you choose when typing your resume? Thecolor of paper you will want to use will be white or ivory. Youwill also want to type your resume on a heavier paper, such as a20 lb. bond.

When telling of your past employmentpositions, try to use the word 'work' sparingly. It is a weak,passive verb, and applies to a broad spectrum of tasks. Information you should leave out areheight, weight, age, date of birth, gender, marital status, raceand personal health information. Also to be omitted arecontroversial issues such as, religious and politicalaffiliations.

HOW TO WRITE A RESUME MISTAKE #10 DO NOT OVERLOOK YOURREPUTATION! Who will vouch for you? If you are going to includepersonal and or professional references, make sure the peopleyou list will give you a shining recommendation. The bestreference would be a leader in the industry you are applyingfor, or another well-respected professional. Try to use only thepeople who will mention your best attributes. It is alsorecommended that you contact the person you will use as areference to assure that the information they will supply aboutyou is only top notch.
